Kate and Thomas
Berkeley Castle Wedding Photography
One fine but freezing day at the end of November, Kate and Thomas got married in the incredible Berkeley Castle, Gloucestershire. Kate started out getting ready at her Father's home with her lovely bridesmaids, and I even managed to pick up some make-up tips - bonus. Thomas got ready in nearby cottages with his family. Having both Matt and I along for this wedding worked brilliantly so we could be in two far apart locations and still capture all those special moments of getting ready - the excitement is always palpable.
The wedding ceremony took place in the majestic Great Hall, where a harpist played as Kate entered, and the couple married next to candlelight - so romantic! After drinks in the Long Drawing Room, we braved the outdoors for group photos and bride and groom photos, and though cold, the low winter sun gave us some beautiful photo opportunities. I knew how important the photography was to Kate and Thomas, and I was delighted they built in plenty of time for us to make use of the endless backdrops of the castle and grounds, whilst guests were taken on a private tour.
Kate, Thomas and their guests then enjoyed a real feast, with a tasting menu designed by the couple, after which they danced to The Midnight Cabaret Band. A really magical day, Berkeley Castle really is an incredible venue with exclusive use in the winter. We were over the moon to be the wedding photographers for such a special day. Thanks for having us!
